Job description

Private Client Legal Assistant

Scott Richards Solicitors, Newton Abbot & Teignmouth

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our growing Private Client team as a Legal Assistant to support the administrative aspects of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts, and Probates. Although previous experience is preferred, this is not essential as we are able to provide full SR training to the successful candidate.

More importantly, we need you to have excellent communication, IT, and customer service skills to deal with our clients with care and empathy and to work as part of a dedicated team. Most work will be produced through BigHand dictations meaning that accurate typing and attention to detail, as well as a high standard of grammar and spelling, are all essential. Having the ability to work under pressure to required deadlines is also an advantage. You will report to the Head of the Private Client team.

Summary of role:

Dealing with client enquiries both face to face and over the telephone and making appointments as required.

Supporting the Private Client team with file openings and helping our Solicitors and Paralegals to progress matters through to completion and closing.

Dealing with general file management including compliance.

Assisting and undertaking various delegated tasks from team members.

Working efficiently within our Leap case management system
