Team SR Takes on the Journey to Turf Locks

Our latest Team SR social saw us swap the office for the great outdoors, with a slightly unusual challenge: walk, cycle or canoe our way to Turf Locks!

The team split into three groups, with each choosing a different mode of transport for the journey. While the walkers set off on foot, the cyclists took to the Exe Estuary Trail and the canoeing group headed out on the water. Despite taking very different routes, everyone had the same destination in mind: The Turf, where some well-earned food and refreshments were waiting.

What started as a relaxed afternoon out soon developed into a completely unofficial, but surprisingly competitive, race to see which group would reach the pub first!

Once everyone had safely arrived and reunited, we enjoyed a lovely afternoon together over food and drinks, making the most of the early autumn sunshine and the beautiful Devon surroundings.

Staff socials are a great opportunity for colleagues from across the firm to spend time together away from their usual working environment. This one gave us the chance to do something a little different, enjoy some friendly competition and, most importantly, have some fun as a team.

A big thank you to Exe Trail Cycle Hire in Dawlish Warren and Exe Adventures for helping us organise the day, and to The Turf for providing the perfect finishing point.

It’s safe to say that the Team SR walkers, cyclists and canoeists all thoroughly enjoyed the challenge, although there may still be some debate over which was the best way to travel!

We’re already looking forward to our next Team SR adventure.
