  1. Rowcroft Hospice 40th Anniversary

Scott Richards have been long-time supporters of local charity, Rowcroft Hospice – raising money with dress-down days, Colour Rush events and our ongoing commitment to support Rowcroft’s Make-A-Will Week.

In early May, Head of Private Client, Partner Sean Mercer, and Receptionist Helen Ahearne attended Rowcroft’s 40th Anniversary celebration in Torquay. A fantastic, sunny evening, celebrating the specialist care that the hospice has provided to the South Devon community for over four decades. We were delighted to be asked to attend.

Here’s to the next 40 years!

    Private Client Legal Assistant

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our growing Private Client team as a Legal Assistant to support the administrative aspects of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts, and Probates.  Although previous experience is preferred, this is not essential as we are able to provide full SR training to the successful candidate.

More importantly, we need you to have excellent communication, IT, and customer service skills to deal with our clients with care and empathy and to work as part of a dedicated team.  Most work will be produced through BigHand dictations meaning that accurate typing and attention to detail, as well as a high standard of grammar and spelling, are all essential.  Having the ability to work under pressure to required deadlines is also an advantage.  You will report to the Head of the Private Client team.

    Summary of role:

Dealing with client enquiries both face to face and over the telephone and making appointments as required.

Supporting the Private Client team with file openings and helping our Solicitors and Paralegals to progress matters through to completion and closing.

Dealing with general file management including compliance.

Assisting and undertaking various delegated tasks from team members.

Working efficiently within our Leap case management system.

If you feel such a role is for you, please forward an up-to-date CV with a covering letter to Lindsey McIntyre, HR Manager (lm@scottrichards.co.uk).

If you have any questions about the role, please do give Lindsey a call on 01626 771194.

We are saddened to hear the news that our dear friend, Roger Cripps has passed away.

Roger was a longstanding friend and colleague, who happily shared his wealth of knowledge and brought a wicked sense of humour to the office.

He will be greatly missed by us all at Scott Richards and our thoughts are with his lovely family at this sad time.

“It’s the way you tell ’em!”
