,Chris joined the Firm as a Partner and Head of Civil Dispute Resolution in July 2020 with nearly 25 years legal experience including 13 years as a Partner and latterly Head of the Civil Dispute Resolution Department at a leading Devon law firm.
Chris has extensive specialist experience in resolving many types of dispute including commercial, contract, property and contested trusts and probate. He is commercially aware and will always seek to explore the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) such as mediation and arbitration to seek a resolution in a timely and cost effective way. If court or tribunal litigation is required then he has experience in dealing with disputes all the way to the Court of Appeal.
Chris is the current Vice Chair of the Devon and Somerset Law Society contentious business sub committee and also sits on the County Societies Group civil litigation discussion group. He is a Trustee/Director of three local charities and a non-executive Director of the operating company of the Torbay Weekly newspaper.
Away from business and charity interests Chris is a keen rower on both the River Teign and around the local coastal waters.
